What is Doors Open?
Doors Open is a province-wide event running from April to October where residents and visitors are invited to discover first-hand, the historical, heritage, natural and cultural resources in participating communities across the province. Doors Open is a program of Ontario Heritage Trust. From historical houses to modern marvels of construction, Doors Open Ontario showcases the buildings, natural spaces, infrastructure and cultural landscapes that shape and define our communities. Doors Open Burlington is on August 8, 2026.
Do you have a space that tells a story?
On August 8, 2026 from 10am to 3pm, hundreds of visitors will explore our city’s “hidden” gems during Doors Open Burlington. We are inviting local businesses to apply for a chance to showcase their site’s history, architecture, and contribution to the Burlington community.
Doors Open Burlington provides a great opportunity to explore your building’s history and connect with the community.
What We’re Looking For:
- Heritage Sites: Historic homes, places of worship, or civic buildings with a significant contribution to Burlington’s history.
- Modern Marvels: Innovative architecture or sustainable “green” builds.
- Behind-the-Scenes: Workshops, fire stations, or industrial sites not normally open to the public.
Applications open until May 30, 2026.
Please Note: Submitting this form does not guarantee participation in Doors Open Burlington. All applications are reviewed to ensure that their site aligns with the goals of Doors Open.
If you would like to participate as a venue for 2026 or if you have suggestions for venues you would like to see included, please fill out the application form below.
