Did you know that the Burlington Teen Tour Band began as a small group of young musicians that practiced in a room above a store on Brant Street in 1947?
In April 1947, The Burlington Chamber of Commerce voted to create a youth music group and by 1952 the band was gaining popularity and numbers had increased to an incredible 150 musicians! Throughout the years, the Burlington Teen Tour Band has become one of Canada's premier youth marching bands. The group has won countless prestigious international competitions and has represented Canada at the V-E day anniversaries in Holland. The band was honoured to be the first foreign band to lead the Rose Bowl Parade and was the first non-military band to perform on the U.S.S. Missouri to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbour.
