Now Accepting Summer Camp Registrations

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN! Our camps for 5 to 12 year olds involve designing, building, learning and experimenting with innovative projects in a fun atmosphere. Museum Educators present material in an engaging, well-rounded, camp environment, with a variety of indoor and outdoor activities on the grounds of the historic Ireland House. The program includes a day with educational programming, supervised outdoor recreational activities, scavenger hunts and obstacle courses.

We are excited to be the recipients of $10,000 of funding for two summer positions from the Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations program delivered by the Canadian Museums Association. Funding is made possible by the Government of Canada.

Tickets for Mother's Day Champagne Tea on sale now!

The Mother’s Day Champagne Tea will serve premium tea and traditional refreshments. Guests will enjoy a glass of champagne along with champagne infused desserts and tea, followed by tours of Ireland House Museum. The historic house presents a history of Burlington from the 1830s to the 1920s through the Ireland family. There are three seating times available at 11:00 am, 1:00pm, and 3:00 pm.

Join Dorothy Kew a local history and genealogy Librarian/Researcher as she explores the fascinating topic of genealogy.  As Dorothy says “the cardinal rule of family history research is that you start with yourself and move back, working from the known to the unknown”.  She will explore interesting and unique ways to search for information, what records you need to support your family story, and ways to organize your research.
